Times are a-changing for the Indianapolis Colts. Randall Parks Frazier is rumored to be the new play caller for the franchise. He is replacing the fired Frank Reich, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
It is another move for a franchise that has come under fire for the announcement of former center Jeff Saturday as the team's interim head coach, despite having no NFL coaching experience.
For Randall Parks Frazier, he does have some coaching experience in the NFL. He joined Reich at Indianapolis in 2018 as an assistant. He was a passing game specialist and quarterbacks coach for the Colts this year.

Randall Parks Frazier used to be the Colts' assistant coach
Per the Colts' official team website, Frazier is currently in his fifth year with the team. He was an assistant quarterback coach last year. This season, he was upgraded to passing game specialist.
Prior to that, Randall Parks Frazier was an offensive quality control coach in 2020. In the 2018/19 season, he served as the Colts' assistant head coach.
So he does have experience in the coaching spectrum of the NFL. That's something.
Born in Mississippi, Randall Parks Frazier has had a long list of coaching roles during his time. Despite being just 30 years old, he has a decent amount of experience. Off the field, according to the Colts website, he is married to a former reporter named Caroline Cann.
At Samford in 2015, he was responsible for defensive quality control and held the same title for Middle Tennessee State as well. In 2016/17, he was a graduate assistant for Arkansas State.
The fact that he was named as an assistant head coach should bode well for Parks Frazier going forward.
He knows the playstyle and how the offense would like to run. While that might be a little different now with Saturday at the helm, his previous experience should serve him well.
He does have a serious job ahead of him. The Colts offense has only scored 20 or more points three times this season. They have also had points totals of zero, 12, 10 and three.
The Colts next face a Las Vegas Raiders team who have lost back-to-back games and will be wanting to break the cycle.
