Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson returned to the field on Christmas Day after missing last week due to a concussion. The Broncos were at SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams and their newest member Baker Mayfield.
From the start, the Rams were dominant over the Broncos, and NFL fans were treated to yet another primetime game that featured the abysmal Broncos. After the 51-14 loss, NFL fans started mentioning the Broncos quarterback's mega contract extension.
Shortly after being traded to Denver, the quarterback signed a five-year contract extension worth nearly $245 million this offseason. Despite the trade and contract extension, Denver is 4-11 on the season and in last place in the AFC West, which is not what fans expected.

One fan compared Wilson's gigantic contract to a theft. In the Tweet, they then showed a side-by-side comparison of the Broncos quarterback next to the Kansas City Chiefs superfan Xavier Michael Babudar, who is seen at home games dressed as a wolf, who was recently arrested for robbing a bank.
The caption asked other NFL fans, which one stole more money this season. NFL fans got a lot of laughs from this post as well as others who had additional commentary about Wilson and his contract extension.
Broncos backup QB defends Russell Wilson; starts fight with O-line
During Sunday's terrible loss to the Los Angeles Rams, there was an altercation on the Denver Broncos sideline. Backup quarterback Brett Rypien walked over to to the offensive line and apparently had something to say about their lack of protection for quarterback Russell Wilson after the last sack.
While it is unknown what Rypien said to the linemen, offensive guard Dalton Risner was heard saying "Do something Brett, do something" in terms of getting physical. The two had to be separated on the sidelines as other offensive linemen and players intervened.
Cam Sutton walked around the sidelines, attempting to ease tensions among his teammates. Wilson was even seen approaching his offensive line to smooth things over.
The Denver Broncos' frustrations are clearly getting the best of them, as evidenced by this latest drama. Rumors of the team abandoning the starting quarterback, as well as rumors that first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett's time with the team may be limited.
The Broncos still have two games left in the season, and some are wondering if tensions will continue to rise.
