Who will the Bengals play next? Cincinnati's playoff schedule explained

Baltimore Ravens v Cincinnati Bengals
Bengals players run off field after defeat of Baltimore

The Cincinnati Bengals will be all too familiar in their first-round matchup with the Baltimore Ravens as they just defeated their next week's opponent this week. The two divisional rivals have already played against each other twice this season and will now play against one another in back-to-back weeks. On Sunday, the Bengals beat the Ravens 27-16 at home, giving them the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs with a record of 12-4.

Baltimore's 10-7 record is somewhat of a disappointing sight to see if to Ravens fans after starting the year 5-1 with an MVP candidate in Lamar Jackson. He now may not even be healthy enough to start in the team's first game of the postseason.

After a slow start, the Bengals rattled off 10 wins in 11 weeks to get them a divisional title and at least one home playoff game. Prior to today's meeting, the last time the two teams played was in Week Five in Baltimore, and the Ravens won that game 19-17. The Ravens won't have the advantage of playing at home in this playoff battle, though the Bengals will have that.

Joe Burrow is 3-2 versus the Ravens in his young career, averaging 311 passing yards in those games. Burrow threw for 215 yards and one touchdown in today's game, but with Super Bowl experience and playoff wins already under his belt, statistics are not the most important thing when it comes to the playoffs. It's wins that matter and wins only. Burrow is 3-1 in the playoffs and knocked off Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in Kansas City last postseason.

Injured quarterbacks could be a theme throughout this first week of playoff games, with Tua Tagovaiola already questionable, and Lamar Jackson may add his name to the list, too. The Ravens are 49-21 all-time when Jackson starts. That will be the most important thing for Ravens fans to look out for when it comes to this matchup and the organization's playoff hopes.
