Who won MNF Patriots vs. Bears game last night?

Chicago Bears v New England Patriots

Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears played perhaps their best game of the 2022 season against the New England Patriots. The NFC North giants rolled into Foxborough and did a number on Bill Belichick's team to secure a 33-14 demolition.

The Patriots were largely dominated by the Bears' run game and superb defense. They even took Mac Jones out of the game halfway through the second quarter and simply had no answer to Chicago's blitz.

While it is not clear exactly why Jones was hooked, it provided New England with a small energy boost. Bailey Zappe quickly scored a few points, but the optimism was ultimately short-lived.

The Patriots failed to score in the second half as they were handed their fourth loss of the year.

Chicago produced a complete performance on Thursday night and the 33-14 dismantling of Bill Belichick's Patriots was a thing of beauty.

Quarterback Justin Fields completed 13 of his 21 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Fields was also a menace on the ground, converting several big third downs with his legs. He finished with 82 rushing yards and a touchdown on his 14 carries.

Running backs David Montgomery (15 carries, 62 yards, one TD) and Khalil Herbert (12 carries, 52 yards) also dealt plenty of damage to New England. Receiver Dante Pettis had one run for 29 yards for good measure as well.

The Bears defense showed up too, grabbing three interceptions and a sack to disrupt the Patriots offense.

For New England, Mac Jones completed just three of his six passes for 13 yards and an interception before being taken out of the game. Bailey Zappe didn't fare much better, throwing for 185 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Defensive star Matthew Judon was the only bright spark for the team, grabbing 2.5 sacks. He was also a constant threat to Fields.

There are now big question marks over the Patriots and just how far they can go this season. The AFC East seems to be the Buffalo Bills' to lose, while the New York Jets at 5-2 are sitting second. This leaves New England playing catch up seven games into the season.

Chicago, meanwhile, played some great all-round football and will have a quick turnaround when they face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
