The Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers faced off to close out Sunday Night Football in Week 8 of the NFL season. For Packers fans, it is not one they will remember all too fondly.

The Buffalo Bills did a number on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense as they secured a 27-17 win at Highmark Stadium.

In a game that was billed as a battle between two marquee quarterbacks, it was Josh Allen who looked like the world-beater with Aaron Rodgers looking less than.

The game was set up with a superb first half from the Bills as they raced out to a 14-0 lead before Rodgers and the Packers responded in the second quarter.

Rookie Romeo Doubs produced a superb catch to get Green Bay on the board.

That was as good as it got for Green Bay as Rodgers was largely a bystander to the running attack of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.

The Packers defense stiffened in the second half, limiting Allen to just three points and picked him off twice.

But it was Green Bay's inability to do anything through the air consistently that proved to be their downfall.

Allen and the Bills moved to 6-1 on the season, while the Packers are now two games under .500.

Coming off the bye, Buffalo didn't miss a beat, going straight for the throat of the Packers defense which had no answer for Stefon Diggs or Josh Allen.

The duo connected regularly and pushed the score out to 14-0 in a flash. Diggs finished the game with six receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown, proving to be the difference on offense.

Running back Devin Singletary (14 carries, 66 yards) was Buffalo's main ground threat as they maintained their position atop the AFC East.

For Green Bay, not much went right.

Rookie receiver Romeu Doubs (4 rec, 62 yards, 1 TD) was a shining light, making two great catches, one for a touchdown.

Running back Aaron Jones (19 carries, 135 yards) was a menace on the ground with the passing attack was non-existent at times.

The loss now puts the Packers in real danger of missing the playoffs just halfway through the season.

With Minnesota now at 6-1 and Green Bay at 3-5, it looks unlikely, even at this stage, for Rodgers to pull his team out of this one.
