Who won Rams vs Panthers last night? Scores and results from Week 6

Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Rams
Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Rams

The Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams faced off in a fairly important matchup on Sunday at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. While the Panthers are, for all intents and purposes, not going to make the playoffs, it was still a big game. Ultimately, the Rams' talent won out, with Carolina falling to an NFC West opponent for the second straight week. The final score was 24-10.

It was the first Carolina game since firing Matt Rhule and defensive coordinator Phil Snow. Interim head coach Steve Wilks coached his first game for the team. This was also a chance for them to display the talent they have as contenders are circling, looking to trade for any and all good players they have.

It was also another start for former XFL standout P.J. Walker. Baker Mayfield was out with an ankle injury and backup Sam Darnold is not on injured reserve for an ankle injury.

For the Rams, they came in at 2-3, an inauspicious start for the defending Super Bowl champions. They found themselves one game out of first place before kickoff Sunday, so they needed a win to right the ship. They were in last place, but all three teams were tied at 2-3. Falling a game further into the hole would not have been good for Sean McVay's side.

Without star cornerback Jaycee Horn, the Carolina defense struggled to contain the Rams' vaunted passing attack. Allen Robinson and Cooper Kupp (who continues to prove that last season was no fluke) ran wild. The Rams' running game, with many players contributing there without Cam Akers, was not as efficient, though they did enough to get the job done.

The Panthers tried to run things through Christian McCaffrey, but were unable to do so with much success. Their lone touchdown was on defense. The Rams struggled to get traction, finding themselves tied late in the second half before pulling away.

Carolina fell to 1-5 and moved closer to securing one of the best first-round picks in next year's draft. Los Angeles moved back to .500 and in better shape in the division.
