The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl twice in the last four seasons. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, they overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to top the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 and win Super Bowl 57 on Sunday night.

In the second half, Kansas City found new gear, outlasting the Eagles and winning their second title in four years by scoring on each of its drives. Andy Reid, the Chiefs' coach, has now won his second Lombardi Trophy. It's the third in team history.

Harrison Butker's 27-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining provided the difference.. The Eagles' 35 points were the most by a losing team in a Super Bowl, and the teams' total of 73 points made it the third highest-scoring Super Bowl game ever.

After completing 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns and rushing six times for 44 yards, Mahomes was voted the Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes became the first quarterback since Kurt Warner in 1999 to win the NFL MVP and the Super Bowl in the same year.

With victories against the Jacksonville Jaguars (27-20) and Cincinnati Bengals (23-20) in the playoffs, Kansas City, 14-3 in the regular season, advanced to its third Super Bowl in the previous four years. This was their 10th consecutive winning season under coach Andy Reid.

With a career-high 5,250 passing yards, 41 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions, quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the NFL MVP award and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fifth straight season.

The Chiefs secured their 10th consecutive winning season, a franchise record, after their ninth victory in Week 12 versus the Los Angeles Rams. They captured the AFC West for a record seventh time in a row with a victory over the Houston Texans in Week 15.

Additionally, it is the Chiefs' eighth consecutive season in the playoffs, breaking a team record. The Chiefs secured the top seed in the AFC after defeating the Raiders in Week 18 and having the Bills-Bengals game in Week 17 ruled a no-contest.

The Kansas City Chiefs hosted their fifth straight AFC championship game, which they won 23-20 over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Chiefs overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to overcome the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.

Philadelphia Eagles

For the first time in team history, the Eagles started 8-0 before falling 32-21 in Week 10 to the Washington Commanders.

Following their 40-33 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, they improved on their 9-8 record from the previous season. The Eagles secured their second consecutive playoff berth with a 48-22 away victory over the New York Giants, their division rivals, in Week 14.

The Eagles completed their third 13-win season win in franchise history after defeating the Chicago Bears 25-20 on the road in Week 15 to match their best start since 2004.

The Eagles won the NFC East for the first time since 2019 and clinched the NFC's top seed for the first time since 2017 with a 22-16 victory over the Giants in Week 18. The Eagles also set a team record with 14 victories during the regular season.

The Eagles advanced to Super Bowl LVII, their fourth Super Bowl appearance in team history, by defeating the injury-riddled San Francisco 49ers 31-7 in the NFC championship game.
