The Baltimore Ravens will suit up one last time in August as they wrap up their preseason prep in Wisconsin when they take on the Green Bay Packers this afternoon at Lambeau Field.
The Ravens are clearly one of the teams to watch this season given their free agency acquisition of Derrick Henry, while the Packers have also loaded up, bringing Josh Jacobs to town alongside Xavier McKinney. Two exciting teams then will go at it at Lambeau Field. However, the question is, will reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson play today?
Why isn't Lamar Jackson playing today vs. Packers?
The Ravens are officially holding out Jackson against the Packers in order to rest their franchise quarterback. While Jackson was involved in joint practices with Green Bay earlier in the week, coach John Harbaugh confirmed to reporters that Jackson will play no part against Matt LaFleur's Packers.

"We have done well over the years doing that because we practice well," Harbaugh said. "It comes down to practice. Practice is what makes it."
Since Jackson won't face the Packers this afternoon in Wisconsin, this will make it the third straight preseason where the Ravens have held Jackson out of preseason games. Like Jackson, Derrick Henry also didn't suit up for any of the two preseason games and likely won't this afternoon either.

Ravens' regular season schedule in the spotlight
Once the Ravens wrap up their preseason prep, they will kick off the 2024 regular season in just under two weeks on Sept. 6 at Arrowhead Stadium when they face off against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
It's a tricky opening round of games on the Ravens' schedule. They face all of the Raiders, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals in their opening five games. However, the schedule eases a little from Week 6, where they face the Washington Commanders, followed by the Bucs, Browns, Broncos and Bengals.
