As the Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens tonight in the 2024 NFL season opener, they will be without a key offensive weapon in wide receiver Marquise Brown. On Tuesday, the Chiefs released their first injury report for Thursday night's game and listed Brown as out.

Brown suffered an SC joint sprain in the Chiefs' first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 10. Brown had to stay overnight in the hospital due to the injury and was sidelined all preseason.

Interestingly enough, Tyreek Hill had a similar injury when he was with the Chiefs in 2019. He was forced to miss four games as a result, but his injury happened closer to the start of the regular season.

Brown could return as early as next week or could miss a few games. It seems as if the Chiefs are taking a day-by-day approach with his injury. Not only is it a big blow to the Chiefs' offense that Brown is out, but he'll miss the opportunity to go against the team that drafted him.

The Ravens selected Brown in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played with the team for three seasons before he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. After spending two seasons with the Cardinals, Brown joined the Chiefs on a one-year contract. He will have to wait at least until Week 2 to make his Chiefs' debut.
