Aaron Donald has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL for almost a decade. The Los Angeles Rams star is in his ninth season in the league this season. However, production from the eight-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman hasn't been there in the 2022-2023 season. So far, he has just 32 tackles and four sacks for the Rams.
The last time he had a season with less than double-digit sacks was in the 2016-2017 season. That season, he had eight sacks but still made the Pro Bowl.
Let's see if the star defensive lineman is a go versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week Nine.

Aaron Donald's status against the Buccaneers
The former Pittsburgh Panthers star will start against the Buccaneers in Week Nine. He faced the Buccaneers last season in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. In that game, Donald had five tackles and a sack in the Rams' 30-27 victory over the Buccaneers.
Aaron Donald's fantasy football update and predictions
The three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year has had a steady season in terms of fantasy football thus far. Entering Week Nine, he has 55.4 fantasy points, including a 15.8 effort in Week Five versus the Dallas Cowboys. He had two sacks and a forced fumble in that Week Five matchup.
His other double-digit fantasy football points game this season came back in Week Three against the Arizona Cardinals. He had 11.5 points versus the Cardinals with two tackles for loss and a sack. Facing the Buccaneers, Donald could find himself in the backfield a lot. Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been sacked 13 times this season and hit just 21 times.
Expect the seven-time All-Pro to get at least one sack and somewhere around 10 fantasy points in Week Nine.
Aaron Donald's fantasy football update and predictions
If the 2014 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year isn't available, here are two other options to fill the fantasy roster.
Matthew Judon
The New England Patriots star could see himself having a great game versus the Indianapolis Colts in Week Nine. He's currently leading the NFL in sacks with 8.5 and facing a Colts team with a rookie quarterback. Judon has 72.1 fantasy points and has been the best linebacker in fantasy all season up to now.
Brian Burns
The Carolina Panthers defensive end has 59.5 fantasy points this season, including a 10.4-point game versus the Buccaneers in Week Seven. The Panthers face Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow has been hit 29 times this season, tied for the third-most in the NFL. Burns has five sacks this season.
