Russell Wilson suffered a horrific head injury in the Denver Broncos' Week 14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The quarterback was placed in the NFL's concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's game in the fourth quarter.
Wilson was tackled from behind by Chiefs' defensive end Frank Clark and his head struck the turf with some brute force. The 34-year-old had a big bump on the side of his forehead and seemed groggy as he got up before being replaced.
However, the nine-time Pro Bowler returned to limited practice with the Broncos on Tuesday. While there are still concerns over Wilson's health, it appears that he will start for Denver against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. Wilson is currently listed as 'questionable' ahead of the game.
If the Broncos are unwilling to risk Wilson this Sunday, they could opt to start Brett Rypien against Arizona. Rypien replaced Wilson in Week 14 after the latter's head injury.

While speaking to reporters on Monday, Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said (via USA Today):
"We’re going to do everything in the way that the medical doctors say — the independent doctors. We’re going to do every single thing. Wilson's safety is by far the No. 1 most important thing. We’ll continually talk to him and to everybody else about that and make sure we do the right thing.”
Russell Wilson's stats in the 2022-23 NFL regular season
Russell Wilson has had quite a tough debut season in Denver. The quarterback has thrown for 2,805 yards with 11 touchdowns, completing only 60.4% of his passes. He also has 215 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground across 12 games.
This has been Wilson's worst season in the NFL across his 11 years in the league. There was a lot of hype when he joined the Broncos in the offseason, but with a 3-10 record, Denver is already out of playoff contention.
It will be interesting to see whether the Broncos will look to continue with him next season. The next four games of the regular season could be crucial in coming to a decision.
