The USFL is the only significant pro springtime football league to have a fruitful first year and regroup for a second season in almost four decades.
Although the USFL intends to grow, it's unlikely to do so till 2024, assuming the league reaches its third year.
The Memphis Showboats will take the place of the Tampa Bay Bandits for the 2023 season, the USFL announced in November 2022, along with their deal to play at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The league's seven remaining teams will remain the same as they were in 2022.
