"Worst QB I've ever seen": Panther fans slam Bryce Young for throwing 3rd INT of the day

Bryce Young hasn’t shaken off the jitters of his rookie season, as the Panthers get demolished 47-10 by the Saints on September 8. The fans take shots at Young throwing the second interception of the game in the season opener.

Last season, the Carolina Panthers, under a rookie quarterback, posted the worst record (2-15) in the league. While many fans and pundits believed that Young would come into his own in his sophomore season, that hasn’t panned out yet against the Saints.

Young’s first pass in the season was an interception, and he repeated the mistake two quarters later. Even though the QB brought down the gap between the teams by rushing for a touchdown, his two interceptions have become a major talking point on the internet.

The Panthers fans did not waste much time to declare Young one of the worst starting QBs in the game currently.

Several fans recalled last year when the Panthers threw the kitchen sink to get to the top spot in the 2023 NFL Draft. The team traded their way from the 9th spot to the first pick for the sole purpose of drafting Young.

“That trade was the worst trade in football history,” one fan said.

“They traded the farm for a bust man sheesh,” another fan said.

“The trade up for Young set the Panthers back 5 years,” a fan said.

What was the Bryce Young trade?

The Panthers occupied the ninth spot in the 2023 NFL Draft, while the Chicago Bears had the No. 1 pick. To move up to the top spot, the Panthers offered their wide receiver D.J. Moore along with several picks, including their 2024 first-round pick, in exchange for the No. 1 overall selection in 2023.

This plan to acquire Young hollowed out the Panthers last season and left them with limited draft capital this year. As a result, all their hopes rest on quarterback Bryce Young.
