Fans on social media have slammed the New York Giants for retaining their head coach, Brian Daboll, and general manager, Joe Schoen, for the 2025 season. The team has struggled throughout the 2024 season and ended with a 3-14 record.

However, despite their disappointing performance, the Giants president, John Mara, released a statement on Monday announcing that the team will continue to work under the guidance of Schoen and Daboll for the 2025 season.

"As disappointing as the results of the season have been, (Giants co-owner) Steve (Tisch) and I remain confident in the process that Joe and Brian have implemented and their vision for our team,” Mara said in a statement. “We look forward to the future and achieving the results we all desire.”

However, fans were critical of the decision.

"Might be the worst run organization every at this point lmfaooo," a fan wrote.

Meanwhile, another fan slammed the team and said they would continue struggling.

"They will not win anything as long as Daboll is the coach," another fan commented.

One fan was seemingly supportive of the decision.

"I don’t think either of them are incredible as their jobs but I’d much rather have them keep both than split them up. If it continues to suck (it will), fire both then have a blank slate rather than try to get a new HC with a lame duck GM," another fan said.

Yet some fans supported having Daboll on the team while suggesting firing Schoen.

"Ok with keeping Daboll, Schoen should've been fired," the fan wrote.
"They should of gotten rid of the GM, he’s going to pick the wrong QB," one more fan jotted.

While several other fans were critical of the decision.

"The Giants will SUCK in 2025," one more fan added.
"Usually go to 3-4 games, will reduce that number to ZERO. If the owner doesn’t care about winning, why should the fans?" a fan said.
"Bro must be getting blackmailed or something idk how these two have jobs," another fan commented.

Giants lost the season-concluding game against Philadelphia

The Giants faced the Philadelphia Eagles in the final regular season game in Week 18 and lost 20-13.

However, prior to that, the Giants had a good outing in Week 17 against Indianapolis and won 45-33. Speaking of the victory, HC Brian Daboll said (via NFL.com):

"That's how the offense needs to perform. That's how the quarterback needs to perform. So, when you do that and you win the turnover ratio, you have a chance to score points and win."

The New York Giants started the season with two back-to-back losses before winning their first game against the Cleveland Browns 21-15. Their second win was against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5 (29-20).
