Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel isn't impressed with the price tag of the Washington Commanders.
McDaniel, on the first day of the league meetings on Monday, was asked about the impending sale of the Commanders and was shocked to hear that the team would likely sell for close to $5 billion.
In a clip that quickly circulated around social media, McDaniel shockingly asked if that was really how much the Commanders organization was worth. The Dolphins coach used his quirky sense of humor to question the worth of the franchise.
He then continued to ponder that thought and then sarcastically mentioned that he couldn't get a free cup of coffee while working there.

"Wow, the organization's worth that much? And you know, I couldn't get free coffee?" McDaniel said.
Mike McDaniel worked with the Washington Commanders as an offensive assistant from 2011 to 2012. He was a wide receivers coach in 2013 before leaving to work with the Cleveland Browns.
After working in Washington for a few seasons, it's clear that Mike McDaniel is not impressed with Dan Snyder's franchise or that it isn't worth the hefty price tag that it will likely sell for in the coming weeks.
When will Dan Snyder sell the Washington Commanders?
The league meetings are taking place this week in Arizona. And it wasn't too long ago that many believed that the other 31 NFL team owners could vote to oust Dan Snyder as owner of the Washington Commanders during the week's meetings.
But in recent weeks, it appears that Snyder is making moves to sell his team sooner rather than later. Perspective bidders have revealed recently that Snyder and his wife have cleaned out their offices in the team's building.
He bought the franchise for about $800 million, and with possible potential owners like Jeff Bezos and Josh Harris, the sale of the team could exceed $5-6 billion.
As newly signed free contracts were signed, the date for the signing bonuses to be paid out are not until mid-May. This indicates that Snyder believes that he will have sold the franchise by that point and he won't be financially responsible for paying the signing bonuses. That would fall onto the new owner.
So, it's looking more and more like a new owner could be at the helm before training camp begins this summer, perhaps even sooner.
