Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is feeling the heat as his team currently sits with a 3-4-1 record. Irsay has fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady, who was just in his second season in the role for the team. Thus far in the 2022 season, the Colts are ranked 30th in points per game. They are averaging just 16.1 points and are currently ranked 18th in yards per game with 339.4 yards.
Many NFL fans weren't pleased with Irsay's decision to fire Brady. Some say that the wrong coach was fired:

Did Colts owner Jim Irsay fire the right coach?
Many Colts fans sense that Irsay needed to fire someone, but it shouldn't have been Brady. Head coach Frank Reich is the main target after the 3-4-1 start. Indianapolis entered the campaign with high expectations, especially after trading for 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan. The defense came into the season looking strong enough to compete with any team in the NFL.
However, Reich recently announced that Ryan will be benched for the remainder of the season. Ryan will start quarterback Sam Ehlinger in Ryan's place. Reich spoke of the change at quarterback to the media:
"We are going to make a significant change to the starting lineup. We are going to elevate Sam to be the starting quarterback. Extremely difficult decision, obviously, given the respect and admiration we have for Matt Ryan and what he's done and what he's brought here. He's a pro's pro. This guy is special, special, special."
Indianapolis lost to the Washington Commanders in Week 8, their second straight loss. Reich is currently in his fifth season with Indianapolis and Ehlinger will be his sixth starting quarterback as head coach. The loss to the Commanders was jarring for Indianapolis fans and they are doubtless scratching their heads at the current state of affairs. For now, it seems that the head coach's job is safe, but we'll see if Irsay changes his mind before the end of the season.
