Xavier Worthy's mom Nicky makes her voice heard after Chiefs WR's electric performance sends KC to Super Bowl

Xavier Worthy and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl LIX. Worthy was the Chiefs' No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Worthy led the Chiefs in receiving with six receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Worthy's mom Nicky took to social media to share a message on her son's performance.

"What a day. I'm so grateful," Nicky wrote with a picture of her and Xavier together on the field.

Worthy has been an impact receiver for the Chiefs all season and he had one of his best performances of the year in the AFC Championship Game. In the regular season, Worthy caught 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns.

Entering the AFC Championship Game, Xavier Worthy had a chip on his shoulder.

The Chiefs traded up with the Buffalo Bills to select Worthy at 28th overall. Heading into the AFC Championship Game, Worthy said he had a chip on his shoulder as Buffalo passed on him.

"I take it as a blessing. I feel like it's a sign that they didn't want me. I'm going to play with a chip on my shoulder," Worthy told reporters on Friday, via Bleacher Report.

"This game means a little bit more. Obviously it's the AFC championship game, but this is a team that traded their pick away to get somebody else."

Worthy ended up having a spectacular performance against the Bills and helped Kansas City advance to its third-straight Super Bowl.

After the win, Worthy said Buffalo skipped on him so it's their loss that he helped eliminate them on Sunday.

"I said it once, they skipped on me, that's their loss," Worthy said on the field after the win.

Worthy and the Chiefs will now play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 9. Kansas City is a 1.5-point favorite to defeat the Eagles and win their third-straight Super Bowl.
