Patriots' Matthew Judon lashes out at radio hosts

New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon has taken aim at local radio hosts. On "The Gresh and Fauria Show," the hosts called out the linebacker for leaving practice.

Judon is in the midst of a contract dispute with the Patriots and during practice, he had a conversation with head coach Jerod Mayo before leaving. He returned to have an animated conversation with a team executive.

After Judon left practice, the radio hosts stated he needed to act more professional. After the comments, Judon took to social media to respond to the radio hosts.

"I said when was aren’t in pads but besides me staying hours on hours to sign and throw the ball around with the fan how about yall come talk to me. And this me tweeting. You f***s just sit down and talk," Judon wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It was a fiery comment from Judon who seems to be angered by what people have been saying about him after he left practice.

Judon is entering the final year of his deal that pays him over $14.6 million per season.

Matthew Judon explains why he left practice

After Matthew Judon left practice, he spoke to the media. He said he didn't want to be a distraction to the team and went on to explain his actions:

“We had a conversation. I didn’t want to be a distraction to the team so I went inside,” Judon said, via Boston.com. “I wasn’t participating in those drills that day, so I went inside and then I got a message so I came back and talked to our GM and then I went back inside.”

Although he left practice, Judon says he does plan on playing, as he doesn't want to lose money.

“No, I’ve got to play. Didn’t say nothing about (progress),” Judon said. “I’ve got to go out there and play, I’ve got to play the game. I’ve got to do what I’m contractually obligated to do so I don’t lose money.”

Judon has been with the Patriots since the 2021 season after spending his first four years with the Baltimore Ravens. The linebacker was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft.

Judon has recorded 368 tackles, 66.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries in his career.
