“You sold out”: NFL fans react to Marshawn Lynch pairing up with Gov. Gavin Newsom for San Quentin prison trip

This summer, Marshawn Lynch teamed up with California Governor Gavin Newsom and former NBA player Daymond Green to start a new podcast, "The Polytickin." However, the fans weren’t impressed with the latest teaser for the upcoming episode of the podcast.

The 2014 Super Bowl winner with the Seattle Seahawks had announced earlier this year about the new project. Till now, two episodes have dropped. For their third episode, the trio will travel to San Quentin prison.

In the teaser posted on Instagram, the governor and former running back indulge in a short conversation with an inmate. Both sides put forth their versions of the best approach to stopping and mitigating crime.

“Are you willing to have the hard conversations in order to grow? Listen to learn rather listen to defend!!!”

Fans weren’t pleased with this pairing, and they had their say in the comments section.

“Beast mode you sold out. Sad,” wrote one fan.

“Beast mode walking with the d e v I l,” commented one fan.

“Sell out,” commented another fan.

Some fans highlighted their displeasure with Gov. Newsom in the comments section as well.

“Nobody said anything worth listening to in this entire video except the inmate,” wrote another fan.

Do Marshawn Lynch and Gavin Newsom's podcast have political discussions?

This podcast has been in preparation for more than a year; however, it was released earlier this week only. In the trailer, Newsom said there'd be “no politics.” However, that hasn’t been the case with the 2024 presidential elections around the corner.

“We bring each side, all walks of life and we figure out what’s going on, and I call that Politickin,” said Marshawn Lynch in a description of the podcast.

Till now, the trio has discussed the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the stepping down of Joe Biden, and the nomination of Kamala Harris.
