Dynasty Fantasy Football Buys and Sells

Dynasty Fantasy Football leagues place a premium on a player's age due to the multi-year format. This makes rookies and younger players more valuable here than in traditional season-long formats. The NFC North division is loaded with youthful options, but with a strong mix of veterans as well. Here are five of them to buy and sell in Dynasty leagues ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Dynasty Fantasy Football NFC North Buys

Christian Watson

#1 - Christian Watson

Injuries have plagued Christian Watson during his two years with the Green Bay Packers, resulting in his fantasy stock plummeting. Last year alone in the first season with Jordan Love, he recorded five weekly finishes among the top 35 wide receivers in just nine games. His last two games were a WR10 and WR8 finish, so he makes sense as an ideal buy-low candidate in Dynasty Fantasy Football.

#2 - Jameson Williams

The Detroit Lions parted ways with Josh Reynolds during the offseason, opening the door for Jameson Williams to enter their starting lineup. He was once considered an elite wide receiver prospect, but his fantasy value has diminished from his lack of playing time. Buying him now could pay off in a big way if he lives up to his potential in an elite offense.

#3 - Caleb Williams

Rookie quarterbacks with elite talent and ideal situations have the ability to break out right away in the modern NFL. Caleb Williams checks all of these boxes for the Chicago Bears. The franchise surrounded him with offensive weapons during the offseason and his dual-threat skillset is always desirable in fantasy football. While it may be expensive to acquire him, the price could be worth it.

#4 - Jordan Addison

Jordan Addison was a breakout rookie wide receiver last fantasy football season with an overall WR30 finish. This includes seven weekly finishes among the top 25 players in his poisition with two WR1 weekly finishes. Many assume that his role will decrease with Justin Jefferson fully healthy and the Minnesota Vikings transitioning to a rookie quarterback, creating an interesting buy-low opportunity.

#5 - JJ McCarthy

The Minnesota Vikings shockingly parted ways with Kirk Cousins during the offseason and replaced him with rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy. While he may not be an elite talent, McCarthy is in an ideal situation to succeed. Head coach Kevin O'Connell is known for getting the most out of his quarterbacks and he will be surrounded by some of the best offensive weapons in the entire NFL.

David Montgomery

#1 - David Montgomery

The Detroit Lions featured one of the best running back combinations in the NFL last season with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Both of them proved to be useful in fantasy football last season, but Gibbs is expected to receive a much larger workload this year after an impressive rookie campaign. Now is the time to sell Montgomery in Dynasty leagues before his workload inevitably decreases.

#2 - Keenan Allen

Consistency is extremely reliable in fantasy football and not many players have more of it than Keenan Allen. He has exceeded 100 receptions and 1,100 yards in five of the past seven seasons. The issue is that he switched teams to the Chicago Bears during the offseason and is playing in a crowded offense with a rookie quarterback. His elite fantasy football days may be over.

#3 - Jayden Reed

After entering last season with minimal expectations, Jayden Reed broke out to become a fantasy football asset. He finished as the WR26 in fantasy points per game and is an attractive target in Dynasty leagues this year. With the potential returns of Christian Watson and Luke Musgrave, as well as the arrival of Josh Jacobs, Reed could see his usage take a major hit. He makes sense as a sell at his currently high fantasy value.

#4 - D'Andre Swift

The Chicago Bears acquired D'Andre Swfit for the 2024 NFL season as a part of completely reconstructing their offensive weapons during the offseason. While his receiving skills have always been desirable in fantasy football, his role as their starting running back could be challenged. They drafted Roschon Johnson, another dual-threat, in last year's draft, so he could be their long-term plan for the position.

#5 - Jared Goff

Selling high has always been a beneficial strategy in Dynasty Fantasy Football. Jared Goff is an ideal candidate to do so after he turned in his career-best fantasy season last year. He finished as the overall QB7 in total fantasy points, but just the QB13 in fantasy points per game. While he plays in a loaded offense with the Detroit Lions, his lack of rushing contributions severely limits his upside.
