NFL analyst doesn't mince words on 11-1 Chiefs - "Luckiest flukiest team I've ever seen"

The Kansas City Chiefs have the joint-best record of the NFL (11-1) with the Detroit Lions, but they're not considered the biggest favorites to win the Super Bowl. The odds currently have the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles as bigger favorites and many analysts are not bullish on Andy Reid's team.

Even though they're already qualified for the playoffs, and are the current back-to-back champions, they have been struggling to win weaker teams, such as the 3-9 Carolina Panthers (30-27) and the 2-10 Las Vegas Raiders (19-17). Now, SiriusXM host Adam Schein is making it clear: he's not buying the Chiefs' stock.

“I can’t with the Chiefs. I don’t believe in them. I don’t respect them. I refuse to crown them. They lclinched a spot in the playoffs, and that’s great, and Andy Reid to me is a Mount Rushmore head coach in the history of the NFL. Patrick Mahomes is the second-best quarterback who has ever lived. Travis Kelce is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. I’m obsessed with Chris Jones. I don’t take this team seriously. I don’t and I won’t."

The main threat for Kansas City in the AFC is the Buffalo Bills, who hold a 10-2 record and have the tiebreak advantage over Andy Reid's team. The Bills were the only team that defeated the Chiefs in the 2024 regular season so far.

Chiefs' remaining games in the 2024 season

There are five remaining regular season games for Patrick Mahomes and his teammates in 2024:

  • Week 14: vs. Los Angeles Chargers (SNF)
  • Week 15: at Cleveland Browns
  • Week 16: vs. Houston Texans
  • Week 17: at Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 18: at Denver Broncos

Apart from the Browns, all those teams have positive records and are likely to be in the AFC playoff picture. The Texans and the Steelers are division leaders, while the Broncos and the Chargers are from the AFC West but are in prime position to earn a Wild Card spot.

With many good teams remaining on their schedule, Kansas City will have a tough time securing the 1st seed in the conference. But this could be just what they need to fix their mistakes before the playoffs.
