NFL: Despite loss, Raiders feel good about themselves

The forecast for the Oakland Raiders 2013 was doom and gloom. However, the team may have found a ray of sunlight in Indianapolis.

All pre-season, the news around the team was how injuries decimated the offensive and defensive lines and the quarterback situation that changed at the very last moment. The Raiders played well in a 21-17 loss to the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“I feel like we played well, but there’s no moral victories in this league,” running back Darren McFadden said, via Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area.

“You have to go out there and win on the scoreboard. We did a lot of good things out there. We made some mistakes that we can come back and correct next week. The key is to keep building.”

“People just assume we’re going to be terrible,” Raiders cornerback Tracy Porter said.

“Guess what? We’re not. We’re a good football team composed of a bunch of guys who care. We want to win, and we believe that we have the talent to beat anybody.”

“There are a lot of people that don’t think much of Terrelle Pryor and don’t think much of this team,” safety Charles Woodson said. “We made some plays and we showed well. When you get that close, though, you have to finish the job. In the future, we will.”
