Deion Sanders was hired as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes last December to turn around their program. The school is banking on his success at Jackson State, where he had a 27-5 record in three seasons. Sanders is changing the culture at Colorado, including the way he handles team meetings.
A video of a recent team meeting was posted on Twitter for fans to see. However, many fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the former NFL star recording the team meeting and making it public.

A couple of other fans tweeted that Sanders' son, Shedeur, is the exception to the message he delivered in the meeting:
The Buffaloes head coach informed his players will have no numbers on their jerseys in spring practice. He stated that they have to earn the right to wear a number on their jersey in that team meeting.
Sanders said:
“Everything you do around here will be earned. We ain’t giving you nothing. So, you gotta go get it and you got to take it."
Deion Sanders doubled down by noting that none of the players will ever wear the number zero “because that means you’re nothing.” The message being delivered by the former Dallas Cowboys star is that each player has to work hard to get a number on their jersey.
Deion Sanders and his head coaching record
Sanders had a 27-5 record in three seasons at Jackson State, including two SWAC conference titles. He was hired by the school in September 2020 during a shortened season due to the pandemic.
Deion Sanders went 4-3 that season, matching the school's win total from a 12-game season the prior year.
The Colorado Buffaloes are coming off a 1-11 season, finishing last in the Pac -12. Fans will be looking to Sanders to get them back to relevancy starting this season in Boulder.
