#3 NFL cap hit - QB Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Some may not realize that Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is going to break the current league record for the largest active cap hit in a season with $48.6 million in the upcoming season.
Ryan is a former MVP and took the Falcons to the Super Bowl, but he also hasn't had a winning record since 2017. His five-year, $150 million deal in 2018 seems like a huge mistake by Atlanta and one they will be reeling from for the foreseeable future.

#4 NFL cap hit - QB Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott is a great NFL quarterback, but he hasn't lived up to his four-year, $160 million contract. He had a career year in 2021 with 37 touchdowns, but the Cowboys were "one and done" in the playoffs once more.
Under his current deal, his cap hit in 2024 will be a staggering $48.45 million. Unless he leads Dallas to the Super Bowl by then, owner Jerry Jones will likely regret giving him that much money.
#5 NFL cap hit - Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
The reigning NFL MVP is rumored to want $50 million for 2022, which would make him the highest-paid player in the league.
Aaron Rodgers is almost 39, but $50 million isn't a huge stretch when he is already projected to make $46.6 million this year with his current deal.
Either way, it is still a large chunk of change for a quarterback pushing 40 and constantly debating retirement. If the Packers won't pay the money, there are certainly teams who would be willing to fork over the cash for a chance to play in the Super Bowl.
