The Wild Card round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs has arrived and running backs will be one of the positions in the spotlight. Of the top 10 players in rushing yards this season, seven of them will be playing in the postseason. This demonstrates the value of having an elite running back, despite the position being relatively undervalued in recent years.

Josh Jacobs will be one of the running backs to keep an eye on during the Wild Card. He has quietly been one of the most dominant backs in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers in recent weeks.

He ranks third in the NFL with 16 scrimmage touchdowns this year and he has also exceeded 100 rushing yards in three of his past five games. He will likely play a major role on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings in one of the most intriguing games of the week.

Breakout rookie superstar Bucky Irving will be another player to watch during the Wild Card round amid his impressive season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has already surpassed Rachaad White as their featured back and has exceeded 150 scrimmage yards in three of his past six games.

The Washington Commanders' rushing defense has severely struggled this year, so Irving could be in line for a huge game on Sunday Night Football this week.
