Scenario #3: Dallas Cowboys let Dak Prescott enter NFL Free Agency
In Week 5 of the 2020 NFL Season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott went down with a gruesome ankle injury that would sideline him indefinitely. Prescott was playing under the franchise tag after the Cowboys failed to sign him to a long-term deal. With the injury we could potentially see the Dallas Cowboys let him enter NFL Free Agency.
Jerry Jones is hard headed and is the reason to why the Cowboys have not been back to the Super Bowl since the early 1990s. Jones is an ego maniac that has to have everything his way. He hires head coaches that he can control and the only coach that he couldn't control he got rid of in Jimmy Johnson.

This is one of the main reasons why Dak Prescott could potentially enter the 2021 NFL Free Agency. Jerry will want the deal done his way and the two sides will fail to come to an agreement. With this being a potential outcome, it could be an interesting off-season for the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott.
If Dak Prescott walks away from Dallas where does he sign
If the Dallas Cowboys fail to come to an agreement with Dak Prescott we could see him in a new uniform early in the NFL Free Agency period. With a lot of NFL teams needing a quarterback Dak would be top of the list for a lot of teams. One team that could pursue Dak if he enters free agency is the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts lost Philip Rivers to retirement and do not have a good enough draft pick to get their franchise quarterback. Prescott would step in and fill the shoes of Rivers as the Indianapolis Colts franchise quarterback. The Colts would be receiving a quarterback that was playing like an MVP before being injured and a quarterback that would lead them back to the NFL Playoffs in 2021.
Another team that could be on the radar for Dak Prescott would be the New Orleans Saints. The Saints will most likely lose their veteran quarterback Drew Brees during the off-season. We could potentially see the same situation that we seen with Drew Brees when he left the Los Angeles Chargers.
Sean Payton would be getting a quarterback that has proven his success in the NFL and a quarterback that can walk in and start day one. Dak is a leader on and off the field. He has a lot of the same leadership qualities that Drew Brees had. If Prescott is in a Saints uniform in 2021 they will not miss a beat and be right back into the mix.
