Five fastest QB yard times in NFL Combine history

Despite declining to run the 40-yard sprint at the NFL Combine in 2018, Lamar Jackson has grown to be among the league's top dual-threat signal callers.

The Baltimore Ravens QB's record of 4.34 seconds for the 40-yard dash at Louisville's "Speed Day" in 2017 didn't officially register. Nevertheless, it's the second-best 40-yard sprint time by a quarterback, trailing only Michael Vick's record of 4.33 seconds.

To succeed as a quarterback in the NFL, one must possess more qualities than just arm strength and precision. The role is dynamic and appears to be becoming more athletic with every new NFL draft class.

The NFL Combine is the ideal place to display such speed and agility. Below are the five fastest 40-yard dash times for quarterbacks in NFL history.

#1 - Michael Vick — 4.33 seconds

#2 - Reggie McNeal — 4.40 seconds

#3 - Robert Griffin III — 4.41 seconds

#4 - Justin Fields – 4.46 seconds

#5 - Brad Smith — 4.46 Seconds
