Deshaun Watson has probably already played his last game as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans. Prior to all of the pending legal allegations, Watson had already demanded a trade, claiming he would refuse to play this season if he wasn't traded.

The Texans have explored various trade partners for Watson during the 2021 NFL season and prior to the trade deadline, but a deal hasn't been made yet. They will, most likely, enter the trade market again in the 2022 offseason. The Miami Dolphins have been most closely linked to the situation, but several teams have checked in.

#4 - QB Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers traded all the way up to the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to select quarterback Trey Lance. This is a huge indicator that they are ready to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo. No team makes a move like that unless the plan is to make him the starter at some point.

Trey Lance has only started one game in the 2021 NFL season, but he could be a starter in 2022 for the 49ers. He brings added athleticism and an ability to run the ball that Garoppolo doesn't have. If the 49ers believe that Lance is ready to take over the job, Garoppolo will likely be traded in 2022.
