NFL Trade Rumors: Teams drop prediction on how Lamar Jackson impasse will shake out

The Baltimore Ravens made a business move when they placed Lamar Jackson on the non-exclusive franchise tag last week.

The two sides were unable to reach a long-term deal before Tuesday's 4:00 PM franchise tag deadline. The tag ties him under contract to the Ravens this season. He'll make $32.4 million.

When he was tagged, the initial belief was that he would garner a lot of trade interest from teams in need of a quarterback. That doesn't seem to be the case as of right now.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler joined KJM, hosted by former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson. Fowler revealed that he'd talked to many teams in the league that think no team will make an offer for Jackson.

Fowler said:

"I don't expect him to sign the tag. I don't expect teams to make offers here soon, and I've talked to multiple teams who predicted that no team will make an offer, which, as crazy as it sounds, that they think that they shouldn't.
"There's just a lot going on here with, I know, the singular talent is great and yes, offers should be made, but there's ... you gotta start a whole new offense, pay the first two-round picks $200 plus million in guarantees. He's been injured. There's a lot going on."

Looking back at Lamar Jackson's successful five-year NFL career thus far

It's kind of absurd that Lamar Jackson doesn't have much interest from other teams.

He's only 26 years old, has won a unanimous MVP, has led the league in passing touchdowns, set the record for most rushing yards in a single-season for a quarterback, and is the most dual-threat QB in the league.

Teams are likely turned off by the idea of Jackson seeking a large contract with a majority or all of it being guaranteed. He's also run the ball over 700 times in his five-year career, taking a lot of hits and wear-and-tear.

He has a 45-16 record as a starter in the NFL and has led the Ravens to four playoff appearances. He has combined for over 16,000 yards and 125 touchdowns in five seasons.

There are many QB-needy teams in the NFL right now, so it's a little crazy that nobody, as of right now, is interested in meeting with Jackson about a potential deal.
