Nick Chubb has been one of the best fantasy football running backs during his career with the Cleveland Browns. Prior to a season-ending knee injury last year in Week 2, he had recorded five consecutive finishes among the top 16 running backs in season-long scoring.
Managers who were planning to count on Chubb for the 2024 fantasy football season may need to make alternative plans. He is reportedly set to begin the year on the PUP list as he continues to recover from his injury. His ADP currently sits at RB31 and 88th overall, but other options at a similar ranking might make more sense in fantasy drafts.

Nick Chubb's injury occurred in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season and kept him out for the rest of the year. Knee injuries are always a serious situation for any NFL player, but especially running backs. This one was particularly severe as he reportedly damaged multiple ligaments and required several surgeries to repair it.
By placing Nick Chubb on the PUP list, the Cleveland Browns will be without him for at least the first four games of the 2024 NFL season. It's unclear exactly when he will be ready to return and how much the injury will affect his abilities. This means that fantasy football managers may want to consider other running backs at similar ADP in their drafts this year.
5 Nick Chubb replacements to target in fantasy football
#1, Jerome Ford's ADP and 2024 fantasy outlook
The most logical replacement for Nick Chubb is Jerome Ford, who served as the Browns' starter last year following the injury. He turned in a solid RB17 finish in that role and should have a similar workload for as long as Chubb remains unavailable. Ford currently ranks as the RB40 and 114th overall player, according to his ADP, so he is a solid pick in the later rounds.
#2, Devin Singletary's ADP and 2024 fantasy outlook
With Saquon Barkley departing the New York Giants, newcomer Devin Singletary is expected to serve as their featured back. He has finished among the top 35 running backs in all five of his seasons so far, so his 2024 outlook is relatively bright with no legitimate threat to his workload. His ADP ranks him as the RB28 and 84th overall player.
#3, Ezekiel Elliott's ADP and 2024 fantasy outlook
Not many players make for a better Nick Chubb replacement than Ezekiel Elliott at a similar ADP. He ranks as the RB36 and 109th overall player in his first year back with the Dallas Cowboys. He has no real competition for backfield touches with Tony Pollard off of the team, so Zeke has one of the most favorable outlooks of any player in the later rounds of 2024 fantasy football drafts.
#4, Zack Moss's ADP and 2024 fantasy outlook
In his first five games as a starter for the Indianapolis Colts last year, Zack Moss recorded four weekly finishes among the top 10 fantasy football running backs. He was eventually replaced when Jonathan Taylor returned, and he will now replace Joe Mixon on the Cincinnati Bengals. He is a high-upside pick this year in a high-powered offense at his RB29 and 83rd overall ADP.
#5, Zamir White's ADP and 2024 fantasy outlook
After moving on from Josh Jacobs during the offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders announced Zamir White as their starting running back for the 2024 NFL season. In four games in that role last year, he finished among the top 20 weekly running backs in fantasy football for all of them. White is a breakout candidate this year and makes for an excellent pick at his ADP of RB24 and 68th overall.
