Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been one of the best running backs in the NFL since entering in 2018. After a rookie season where he rushed for 996 yards while averaging 5.2 yards per carry, Chubb followed up with four straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons, making four Pro Bowls.
Looking to build off of his early career success in 2023, Chubb would unfortunately have his season derailed from him suffering a serious knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2.

Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 of the 2023 season. Chubb had a knee tear and required surgery on his MCL, meniscus and ACL.
Recovering from his setback, Chubb missed all of training camp and the 2024 preseason. He wasn't ready to return to the field as the Browns put him on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list before the start of the season.
After missing the first four games of the 2024 season, Chubb was designated to return from the PUP list on Wednesday. He practiced for the first time since suffering his knee injury last September.
With Chubb activated off of the PUP list, the Browns have 21 days to make him active or rule him out for the rest of the season.
While Chubb is off of the PUP list and has begun practicing, it may be a week or two before he returns to the field. CBS' NFL insider Jonathon Jones tweeted yesterday that the Browns will likely use most of the 21-day window to ease Chubb back into practice.
"The Browns have officially opened up the practice window for RB Nick Chubb," Jones wrote. "Cleveland has 21 days to activate him to the active roster or else he'll miss the rest of the season. Expect the Browns to take a majority of that time as he continues to ramp back up."
Cleveland Browns will look to bounce back against Washington Commanders this week
The Cleveland Browns may not get Nick Chubb back quite yet, but they will need him to help out with their offensive struggles.
Through the first four games of the season, the Browns hold a 1-3 record, most recently coming off of a 20-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Browns suffered another close loss the week before to the New York Giants, losing 21-15.
The Browns will face the red-hot Washington Commanders, who have been catapulted by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels has led the Commanders to a 3-1 record and first place in the NFC East division.
Looking to break their skid, the Browns will face the Commanders on the road this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Commanders are three-and-a-half point home favorites heading into the game.
