Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is making quick progress as he attempts to return from a hamstring injury, according to NFL and Texans reporter Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.
Wilson mentioned that Collins has rapidly rebuilt his strength, flexibility and agility and is in line to return in Week 10.
Collins sustained the injury in the first quarter of the 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. He was put on the injured reserve list, which means he must miss at least four games. He will not feature in Week 9 against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

Collins is not eligible to come off the injured list until Nov. 4, so fantasy managers cannot have him back for Week 9. However, he is making progress toward being available for Week 10, when the Texans are scheduled to face the Detroit Lions. There have reportedly been no setbacks in his recuperation.
Before his injury, Nico Collins was the league's top wide receiver in terms of yards and No. 3 in receptions, making him an extremely valuable player in the Texans' passing offense. Houston has depended more on running back Joe Mixon in recent games, but Collins' impending return might provide the offense with fresh energy.
Nico Collins injury update: How many games has the Texans WR missed due to the hamstring injury?
Nico Collins, a fourth-year wide receiver for the Houston Texans, has missed the last three games against the Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots since injuring his hamstring in Week 5.
He is also on track to miss Thursday's road game against the New York Jets before he’s eligible to be cleared off the IR. Collins should be able to play in Houston's highly anticipated Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions at NRG Stadium on Nov. 10 if there are no setbacks.
In addition to losing Nico Collins, the Texans wide receiver corps took yet another hit last weekend when Stefon Diggs sustained a knee injury.
Diggs is most likely out for Thursday's Week 9 game against the Jets, but the Texans are still determining the extent of his injury and how long he will be sidelined.
The Texans will rely on Tank Dell and a backup rotation of John Metchie III, Xavier Hutchinson and Robert Woods for the TNF game.
