While Brian Daboll and Daniel Jones had a season to remember in 2022, the last two years have been seasons to forget. The team looks to turn the tide overseas as they fly to take on the Carolina Panthers in Germany. With Daboll set to work in a stadium and a country he's never worked before as a member of the NFL, sports journalists asked him about his preferred venue.

Daboll bluntly stated,

"MetLife," the New York Giants' home.

This resulted in a barrage of negative responses on social media. Here's a taste of what's being said.

"Well not with Daniel jones quarterbacking you don’t," one said.
"The definition of coachspeak. Biggest lie anyone’s ever told," another said.
"I hate traveling after a loss too," another jabbed.

More fans had negative takes:

"Where we can’t win a match… nice choice," one said.
"Well hell, he shoulda said 'anywhere but MetLife cause we are absolutely horrendous at home,'" another stated.
"Very hot seat type answer lol," another joked.

The New York Giants face the Panthers as the conclusion to the NFL's international series. Brazil, London, and Germany were all featured locations. Several times this year, fans had the opportunity to wake up early to catch a game before the normal 10-hour slate of games, filling up just about every waking moment of the Sundays featuring an international series game.

Fans know how Brian Daboll feels about Metlife stadium, but many have spent the last few weeks cracking jokes about Daniel Jones' struggle to throw a touchdown pass in the venue. According to ESPN, Jones went 672 days between throwing touchdown passes in his home stadium. Here's an example of a joke in response to a conversation about the home touchdown drought.

The long-standing drought ended against the Washington Commanders when Daniel Jones threw for two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Of course, there are two key details with that fact.

Fans looking for ammunition to continue the joke could point out that Jones' passes came against the leaky Washington Commanders defense, which has struggled at times this season.

Those looking to defend Jones could argue that the stat includes the time Jones spent working through the injury that sidelined him early in 2023. Will Jones throw for a touchdown pass against a tougher defense in future weeks to rebuild his side of the story?
