The Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos are heading towards different paths. The Packers are looking to build on a shocking playoff run despite a young roster that was thought to be in rebuilding mode. Meanwhile, the Broncos are on the rebuild after failing to be elevated to title contention by one of its highest-profile quarterback acquisitions ever.

But on Sunday, these two teams clashed with nothing but preparations at stake. The Broncos delivered a 27-2 beatdown on the Packers to go 2-0 in preseason.

Packers vs Broncos Preseason Week 2 summary

The first quarter was a slog, as neither team managed to have much offensive success besides a 37-yard field goal by the Broncos' Wil Lutz midway through. The second looked to be more of the same until rookie quarterback Bo Nix found Tim Patrick for a touchdown:

Then just before halftime, Jarrett Stidham rushed into the endzone:

The second half began with the Packers intercepting Stidham off a tip, only for the Broncos to get a sack fumble on Michael Pratt and get another field goal. Finally, in the last minute of the third quarter, the Packers got their first points - a forced safety by defensive end Zach Morton.

The fourth quarter proved even more of an embarrassment to the Packers, as Zach Wilson fed Tyler Badie with almost six minutes left for six:

Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix was dominant in the minutes he spent on the field, throwing just one incompletion in nine attempts for 80 yards and a touchdown. Jarrett Stidham also rushed once for six.

Defensively, Keldron Smith intercepted Packers QB Sean Clifford once, while Jonah Elliss had the sack fumble that undid Stidham's intercepted pass and became a field goal. Zach Allen also had a sack.

Without Jordan Love playing, the Packers had a terrible night under center. With Clifford proving ineffective at just 43 yards from six completions and his turnovers, Michael Pratt had to play cleanup, going 10/16 for 52 yards.

Emanuel Wilson was the Pack's most potent weapon of the game, carrying the ball 13 times for 41 yards. Meanwhile, Ellis Merriweather had eight for 18.

Brevin Allen, Zach Cox, and Brenton Cox Jr. had a sack each on the other side of the ball.

The Broncos and Packers conclude the preseason against the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens, respectively.
