Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. The Chiefs are coming off a bye week and are well-rested to face the wrath of the Titans at Arrowhead.

Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs' quarterback, is fully healthy to play in Week 9. He is an MVP candidate this season and the Chiefs will rely on their quarterback to get another big win.

The Titans are coming off a hard-fought win in Week 8 against the Houston Texans. Their rookie quarterback, Malik Willis, made the first start of his career, but the game was entirely dominated by Derrick Henry. Against the Texans, Henry ran for more than 200 yards and had two touchdowns as well. Limiting Henry will be key for Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday.

Ryan Tannehill is still questionable for the game against the Chiefs and due to that, the home team is expected to get their sixth win of the season. Currently, the Chiefs are favored by -12.5 points and the line itself suggests that it could be a blowout game in the favor of the Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes can make a statement in the MVP Race against the Titans

The current leaders in the MVP race are Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen. Hurts has already won in Week 9, as the Eagles defeated the Texans on Thursday night. They are now 8-0 to start the season, and Hurts could win the MVP this season.

However, Josh Allen has also continued to rack up stats while his team have lost just a single game this campaign. For Mahomes to be the MVP this season, he needs to go on a hot streak with better numbers than both Allen and Hurts.

The Chiefs can still currently finish with a better record than the Eagles and the Bills, but it's going to be tough. A good performance against a strong opponent like the Titans could give Patrick Mahomes an edge over Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen.

So far this season, Mahomes has a passer rating of 109.5 with 2,159 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Allen has a passer rating of 105.9 with 2,198 yards, 19 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Josh Allen is currently the frontrunner to win the MVP award this year, but that could change going forward.
