Patrick Mahomes will be leading the Kansas City Chiefs to their third straight Super Bowl game in the last five years.

The good news for Kansas City Chiefs fans is that the team's star starting quarterback is healthy and will start the final game of the 2022 season as Kansas City faces the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

The Chiefs finished the regular season as the No.1 seed in the AFC with a 14-3 record. But Mahomes was injured early in the divisional round of the playoffs in a 27-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. While being tackled by the Jaguars' Arden Key and Corey Peters, Mahomes' right ankle became painfully trapped beneath Key.

After staggering to the sidelines to receive treatment, Mahomes stumbled back onto the field to talk with coaches. The 27-year-old played out the remainder of the first quarter despite being hurt.

Mahomes, who had his ankle taped, seemed to fight vehemently with coach Andy Reid in the second quarter and threw his jacket to the ground as he made his way to the locker room for evaluation.

Chad Henne took over at quarterback and guided the Chiefs to a 17-7 lead. Despite the fact that the club labeled Mahomes as doubtful to return, he came back in the second half and led the squad to victory, throwing for 195 throwing yards in the game.

Mahomes' injury was not a serious one as the X-rays reports were negative. He had general soreness and was able to practice in full before the week leading up to the AFC championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the Chiefs' fifth straight AFC title game, Patrick Mahomes threw for 326 yards and two touchdown passes in a 23-20 victory.

The finest pass rushers and passing defenses in the game will come at Patrick Mahomes, but the current league MVP shouldn't be taken lightly.

There is no doubt Mahomes can win this game, even if he goes up against the top quarterback defense in terms of points allowed. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, meanwhile, opposes the No. 28 defense in terms of points allowed.

The choice is simply between Mahomes or Jalen Hurts. Both quarterbacks share similar advantages. Mahomes is listed at $11,000 on DraftKings, while Hurts is listed at $11,200. Last but not least, while Mahomes is unmatched as a thrower, Hurts can make up for it with his running skills.
