Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East for the fifth straight season and have advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs after beating the Denver Broncos in the wild-card round.
The Bills selected Allen with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, and while he has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league since, he has never led the team to a Super Bowl. This postseason, they will attempt to make history, but they might have to go through a familiar foe: Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs.
Since entering the NFL, Allen has led the Bills to reach the postseason every season, except for his first campaign. He has recorded six playoff wins and five losses. Notably, Mahomes and the Chiefs were their opponents in three of those defeats.
While Allen's playoff record is 6-5, Mahomes has a 15-3 record in the postseason. He has led the Chiefs to four Super Bowls since he became a starter, winning three.

Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen's head-to-head record in the playoffs
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes have faced each other three times in the playoffs. Although there isn't much statistical separation between them in those games, Mahomes has won all three matchups and eliminated the Bills three times in the last four years.

After defeating Denver in the first round, Buffalo will host the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round. The Bills will set up another meeting with the Chiefs in the AFC championship game if they beat Baltimore and Kansas City defeats the Houston Texans in its divisional round game.
