Patrick Willis is a former professional football player who played in the linebacker position exclusively for the San Francisco 49ers throughout his entire career. He was selected as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Born in Bruceton, Tennessee, he attended Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School. He later enrolled at the University of Mississippi and was a two-time First-team All-SEC selection in 2005 and 2006 and a two-time All-American in the same years. In 2006, Willis was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and won the Butkus Award, the Jack Lambert Trophy, and the Conerly Trophy. His outstanding college performance led to his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2019.

With a successful career spanning eight seasons, Willis earned several accolades and accomplishments. His achievements include being named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2007 and being a five-time First-team All-Pro. Willis secured Pro Bowl selections seven times, from 2007 to 2013. Additionally, he led the NFL in solo tackles and combined tackles twice, both in 2007 and 2009. Furthermore, he was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and was selected for the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team in 2007. He concluded his overall regular season stint with a total of 950 tackles, including 732 solo tackles and 20.5 sacks.
