The Philadelphia Eagles were on the brink of glory last month. However, Nick Sirianni's side fell short of winning the Lombardi Trophy when they were beaten 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
The Eagles will now focus on rebuilding their squad to make another run for the Championship next season. To do so, they need to make the most out of their cap space.
For the 2023 season, the salary cap is set at $224.8 million, which is a $20 million increase from the previous campaign. According to reports, Philadelphia has $6,532,537 in cap space on the eve of NFL free agency.
One key decision the Eagles will have to make is in relation to cornerback Darius Slay. The cornerback is on course to make the most money among his Philly teammates, but the Eagles are expected to restructure the Pro Bowler's deal.

The Eagles finished as the top seed in the NFC East with a 14-3 record in the regular season. They cruised past the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs, but couldn’t get over the line in the end.
Philadelphia Eagles' biggest contracts ahead of NFL free agency
Here's a look at the five Philadelphia Eagles stars who are tipped to make the most money (cap hits) for the 2023 season:
- Darius Slay (CB) — $26,111,000
- Lane Johnson (OT) — $24,193,998
- Brandon Graham (DE) — $9,663,000
- Jason Kelce (C) — $9,025,000
- A.J. Brown (WR) — $8,318,894
The Eagles do not have plenty of cap space ahead of free agency, but they are expected to restructure most contracts, which will free up some space for additions to their roster.
Even star center Jason Kelce has announced that he will return for another season, which comes as a massive boost for Philadelphia. However, the team is expected to restructure the six-time Pro Bowler's contract as well.
