The Eagles and the Ravens faced each other in a heavyweight clash between two Super Bowl contenders in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season. The reason these two franchises are in this situation is because of their strong rosters, underpinned by two veteran running backs who have taken the league by storm with their new teams.
Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley are going head-to-head for the rushing title and each seems to be coming up with some ridiculous statistic after every game. It has also freed up Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts to have more joy with their quarterback runs, with both players equally comfortable running as throwing the ball.
The Eagles came into the clash with a 9-2 record. After the Commanders' win earlier in the day, Philadelphia was just a game ahead of them, while also eyeing the NFC top spot where Detroit has an 11-1 record.
The Ravens also knew they needed to win at home today to keep pace with the Steelers, who won against the Bengals today and have a 9-3 record now. Baltimore was 8-4 before entering this matchup and a victory here would have equaled Pittsburgh's win tally before they go on their bye next week. With so much riding on this for both teams, this is how the action went down today.

Eagles vs. Ravens game summary
The Ravens began the game strongly and forced the Eagles to punt on the first drive. When the home team got the ball for the first time, they went down the field and Justin Tucker converted a goal to give them a 3-0 lead.
With the Baltimore defense coming out hot in the first quarter, Philadelphia had to punt again in their second drive. It gave Lamar Jackson the opportunity to combine with Derrick Henry on a couple of long plays before setting up a touchdown opportunity for Mark Andrews. Their kicker missed the extra point but the Ravens led 9-0 going into the second quarter.
However, the Eagles started to assert themselves in the second period after four consecutive punts by both teams. Jalen Hurts found Dallas Goedert with a touchdown pass to bring the score down to 9-7. After the home team was forced to punt again, the Eagles scored their second touchdown to go ahead 14-9. The tush push was not the cleanest and the referees probably should have called a false start, but Jalen Hurts had his team humming when he broke into the endzone.
The Ravens gained some measure of control late in the first half when they scored a field goal with seconds remaining before the break. With the score 14-12 and the Eagles kicking off in the second half, home team fans had reason to be optimistic.
However, what the Ravens fans could not have imagined was Justin Tucker missing two field goals in the third quarter. He missed to the wide left from 47 yards on the opening drive of the second half. After the home defense came up trumps and forced the Eagles to punt, the Baltimore kicker had a chance to redeem himself in the next drive with another attempt. However, he missed to the wide right from 53 yards.
With the third period remaining scoreless and the Ravens failing to take a lead with those missed attempts, the Eagles put the game to bed in the fourth quarter. Saquon Barkley, who was having a relatively quiet game until then, came alive and waltzed into the endzone to give his team a 21-12 lead.
The Ravens managed to cut that lead to 21-19 with three seconds remaining in the game when Lamar Jackson connected with Isaiah Likely for a late touchdown, which Justin Tucker managed to convert. However, any hope of a miracle that they had was extinguished when the Eagles recovered the onside kick on the restart to end the game.
