The Eagles and the Cowboys renewed their rivalry in the NFC East with much riding on the game for both teams. With the Commanders losing earlier, Philadelphia knew that a win would get them tied with Washington at seven wins apiece.
For Dallas, the issue was a matter of survival. They were without Dak Prescott, who is likely out for the rest of the season. They came into this game with a 3-5 record, knowing a victory here could jumpstart their season, whereas a loss would probably put them too far outside the postseason qualification bubble.
These two franchises have exchanged divisional leadership for the last few seasons but this year they both were slow to start. The Eagles looked like they had figured it out coming into this game, whereas the Cowboys were still struggling, having lost all of their matches at home. This is how the action went down.

Eagles vs. Cowboys game summary
The Cowboys began the first half with a quick three-and-out and a punt. Few could have believed that this was going to be a highlight of their game as things kept downhill for them from there. Their defense did well to sack Jalen Hurts a couple of times on the next drive and force a punt but the offense imploded in the next play.
Cooper Rush, in for the injured Dak Prescott, fumbled the ball on the snap and the Eagles recovered it to set them up for a touchdown. A successful "brotherly shove" later, the Eagles had the first score of the game to lead 7-0. The Cowboys went up the other end and scored a field goal to cut the deficit to 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter began brightly for Dallas as Trevon Diggs picked off Jalen Hurts in the endzone. However, any hope of an immediate reply was extinguished as the Cowboys had to punt on their next possession. Philadelphia followed that up with a punt of their own before both teams exchanged fumbles.
Dallas had a chance to score when Ezekiel Elliott fumbled for a touchback. But the Eagles returned the favor Jalen Hurts coughed up the ball on a sack. That allowed the Cowboys to score their final points of the game with a field goal as they made the score 7-6. Philadelphia responded before halftime with Jalen Hurts throwing a touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert for a 14-6 lead going into the break.
The third quarter was completely dominated by the Eagles. After the two teams exchanged a couple of punts, Cooper DeJean returned the ball to the Dallas 37-yard mark to set up a touchdown drive for Philadelphia. Johnny Wilson caught the ball in the endzone to give them a 21-6 lead.
After yet another punt by the Cowboys, Jalen Hurts put the game out of reach for the home team after his second rushing touchdown of the day.
If punting away was bad, the home team fans saw worse as the Cowboys fumbled the ball in consecutive possessions to set up two field goals for the Eagles to begin the fourth quarter and make the score 34-6.
It was time for the backups to come in and play during garbage time. Trey Lance made an appearance for Dallas but his biggest contribution was throwing an interception in the home team's penultimate drive of the match. Perhaps even more ignominiously, Philadelphia decided to rest their starters for the remaining time as Kenny Pickett came in as the quarterback.
The 7-2 Eagles have their eyes on the 7-3 Commanders for control atop the NFC East. That the Cowboys are nowhere in that conversation, and are now 3-6 for the year, is an indication of how their season hagfs gone so far.
