1. Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson was named the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers shortly after the franchise signed him. However, a niggling calf injury has kept him out of action for the entirety of the 2024 season.
According to CBS Sports, Wilson worsened his preseason training camp calf injury by playing in the preseason to the point that he remains unable to move at a playing speed. Hence, Justin Fields looks set to keep the QB1 job for the foreseeable future.
Yes, Wilson participated in training this week, but he did so in a limited capacity. Barring any surprising turn of events, expect him to remain on the bench.
2. Jaylen Warren
Running back Jaylen Warren will not be playing in today's game against the Colts. The shifty backfield threat is dealing with a knee injury that prevented him from training this week.
Thus, Warren will target a return to action in Week 5 when the Steelers face the Dallas Cowboys.
3. Alex Highsmith
Linebacker Alex Highsmith will not play in Week 4 due to a groin injury. Highsmith was forced off early during the Steelers' win over the Chargers in Week 3 due to a groin issue.
According to CBS Sports, Highsmith is not expected to undergo surgery; however, he'll likely be out for a couple of weeks. Nick Herbig will likely be elevated to a starting role opposite T.J. Watt until Highsmith gets back on the gridiron.
4. Isaac Seumalo
Isaac Seumalo is listed as doubtful about the game against the Colts. The guard is dealing with a pectoral injury and was a mere limited participant in every practice session for the week.
The players listed as doubtful hardly play weekend NFL games, so Seumalo will likely sit out the Week 4 contest and focus on his recovery.
5. MyCole Pruitt
MyCole Pruitt will miss another game due to his knee injury. The tight end did not participate in his team's Week 3 win against the Los Angeles Chargers and couldn't train with his team throughout the week.
So, he's listed as out on the injury report. The earlier return date for the pass catcher will be Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.
