After a breakout 2023 season, it's been difficult for Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert to get going this season.
One reason for Mostert's down season is injuries. Moster missed three games earlier this season due to a chest injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Most recently, he's been dealing with a hip injury, that kept him out of last week's action.
Mostert was featured in Miami's two-headed monster backfield last season with De'Von Achane, but the backfield hasn't been as effective this season.

Raheem Mostert missed last week's game against the New York Jets. Mostert was ruled out with a hip injury.
The same injury has continued to still have an effect on him this week. Mostert has been a limited participant in practice this week, with Miami being cautious with his recovery.
On Friday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that he is optimistic that the veteran running back will be able to play this Sunday against the Houston Texans. Mostert has yet to be ruled officially active or inactive.
If Mostert is active, he likely won't see a big workload. Over the last four games that he's been active, Mostert has rushed the ball 10 times for 22 yards and has been targeted as a pass-catcher seven times recording five catches for 46 yards.
It's been a down year for Raheem Mostert this season
Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert had a breakout season a year ago.
In his ninth season as an NFL running back, Mostert rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career as he had 1,012 yards rushing and a league-high 18 rushing touchdowns in 2023. He also had 175 receiving yards.
It's very uncommon for running backs to have career seasons in year nine of their NFL careers. Heading into this season, some thought Mostert would have another big season in Miami's offense. That hasn't been the case.
Mostert has rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns in nine games this season. He's averaging less than four yards a carry (3.6). As of right now, he is on pace to rush for 309 yards, three rushing touchdowns, and 16 catches for 153 yards.
Second-year running back De'Von Achane has been the feature back even after Mike McDaniel said that Mostert would be the team's RB1 this season.
