Raheem Mostert injury update
Raheem Mostert was classified as a non-participant on Monday's Miami Dolphins practice report due to a chest issue.
Mostert's chest injury was not mentioned during the team's 20-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, so it will be interesting to see if it affects him any further during practice on Tuesday.
Mostert's injury is particularly worrying given that the Dolphins have a short turnaround before playing the Bills. It's possible that he won't play this week if he can't get back on the practice field on Tuesday.
On the plus side, though, data-driven injury analyst Deepak Chona said on X that Mostert's chest injury is unlikely to keep him out for a long time, so he may even be able to suit up against the Bills on Thursday Night Football.
What happened to Raheem Mostert
The Miami Dolphins had to submit their initial injury report on Monday ahead of their Thursday night encounter with the Buffalo Bills. They gave an estimate of what participation would entail if they did practice, even though they didn't. Achane was listed as having an ankle injury
Miami estimated that RB Raheem Mostert would be a non-participant in practice on Monday. Although Mostert didn't visibly suffer any injury in Week 1, the Dolphins relied more on RB3 Jeff Wilson Jr. in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
The Dolphins handed Wilson five of the final nine rush attempts in Sunday's game against the Jaguars; De'Von Achane and fullback Alec Ingold shared the remaining four. The Dolphins' available RB options at the moment are Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright.
Both Mostert and Achane accounted for over 1,800 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns for the Fins in the 2023 season. All eyes will be on the team's injury report on Tuesday to know the condition of the two RBs.
