Ranking the 5 most important players on Tennessee Titans' 2024 roster feat. Tony Pollard and L'Jarius Sneed

Tony Pollard and L'Jarius Sneed are the biggest acquisitions for the Tennessee Titans

Back in 2019, the Tennessee Titans parlayed a second place finish in the AFC South into a shocking run to the AFC Conference Championship Game. That proved only the beginning of a dominant stretch, as they would become the division's best team for the next two seasons and most of 2022.

And then they collapsed, losing seven straight and missing the playoffs. But that would be nothing compared to where they ended up in 2023: 6-11, the AFC South's worst and only losing record.

2024 marks a new era for the Titans. A new main starting quarterback and running back, new passing weapons, a restocked offensive line, and a potential new defensive face - who are the main characters in this roster?

The left tackle is considered the most important position in the offensive line, because he is the one who protects the quarterback's blind side. JC Latham is assuming this position for the first time in his career, having been a starter on the other side at Alabama.

How his transition progresses is key to ensuring that Will Levis is able to feed DeAndre Hopkins, Chig Okinkowo, and new arrivals Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley everywhere on the field.

4) Tyler Boyd

Speaking of Tyler Boyd, he has made a major gamble by leaving the Cincinnati Bengals, the only team he had known up to this point.

He had felt underused with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins onboard, but in his new team DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley may get more priority. Still, that does not mean that he should remain underappreciated, as he represents a massive upgrade at slot over the likes of Jha'Quan Jackson and Kyle Phillips.

3) L'Jarius Sneed

Kevin Byard's midseason trade to the Philadelphia Eagles cost the Titans a clear leader in the secondary. But now they have reeled in a massive haul in the form of two-time Super Bowl champion L'Jarius Sneed.

Joining forces with fellow free-agent signing Chidobe Awuzie and franchise veterans Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden, he will lead a defensive backfield that is widely projected to be the AFC South's most talented.

2) Tony Pollard

After a lull in 2023, the running back market suddenly exploded this offseason. Multiple players at the position switched teams, and Tony Pollard was no exception.

For the past two seasons, he was the Dallas Cowboys' main weapon on the ground, notching consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and scoring 15 rushing touchdowns. But managament's lack of interest in an extension led him to seek greener pastures, and he found the perfect place: Nashville.

He now has massive expectations, given that his predecessor is the great Derrick Henry.

1) Will Levis

And now, for the man at the center of it all: Will Levis.

He is entering his first full season as the starter. He has a potent arsenal for him to feed. The offensive line has been restocked for him. What more can he ask for?

The Tennessee Titans are now Levis' team, and he has a great task: return the division crown to them. Unless he does, then all these moves that have been made will amount to nothing.
