The Washington Commanders are up for sale as current owner Dan Snyder looks to sell the team he first bought way back in 1999.
Snyder's tenure as Commanders owner has not been without controversy, as he's been accused of creating a toxic and sexist workplace by many of his current and former colleagues.
He looks likely to make plenty of cash when he finally sells up, as he acquired the Commanders for $800m 24 years ago, and will likely double his money, at the very least, when the sale is complete.

Eghbali's current net worth is estimated at $4.3 billion by Forbes. Clearlake was part of the team that helped Todd Boehly buy English Premier League club Chelsea back in 2022.
#4 - Todd Boehly - Net worth: $5.3bn
Boehly has also been linked with a move to take over as owner of the Commanders. His current net worth is estimated at $5.3 billion. As previously mentioned, he took over as Chelsea FC chairman last year.
Boehly made his money after co-founding holding company Eldridge Industries and is a part-owner of MLB team the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Richest suitors linked to Commanders takeover
#3 - Steve Apostolopoulos - Net worth: $5.5bn
Canadian businessman Steve Apostolopoulos is the latest name linked with concrete interest in becoming the new owner of the Washington Commanders.
Apostolopoulos, a Harvard University graduate, is the founder of Six Ventures Inc., a private equity venture fund. He was recently rumored to be interested in buying the Charlotte Hornets from Michael Jordan, but with $5.5 billion to spend, he may jus as well do both.
#2 - Harris Rales Group - Net worth: $11.8bn
The Harris Rales Group are one of the favorites to take over as Commanders owners, as they've already launched an official bid.
The group is made up primarily of Josh Harris, owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Michelle Rales, the billionaire owner of Danaher Corporation, DC’s largest company.
Harris' $6.2 billion net worth, along with Rales' $5.6 billion, would put them in a strong position to make a serious bid to become new joint owners.
#1 - Jeff Bezos - Net worth: $120.8bn
By far and away, the richest man linked to the Commanders' ownership post is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Bezos recently stepped back from his duties at Amazon and has a healthy net worth of $120.8 billion. This makes him the third richest man on the planet, behind only Bernard Arnault and Elon Musk.
Bezos wouldn't need any help getting the financial backing, and if he were to take over, there would be plenty of publicity to go with it, both good and bad.
