In contrast to playing, coaching is typically reserved for seasoned professionals who have dedicated a lifetime to perfecting their art. The manager of the team is solely responsible for the team's achievements and failures. Let's take a look at the NFL's youngest coaches right now.

#5 - Arthur Smith, 40 - Atlanta Falcons

Before taking the helm as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in 2021, Smith spent almost ten years with the Tennessee Titans from 2011 to 2020.

In Smith's first season with the franchise, the Falcons battled for a wild-card spot but eventually faltered towards the end of the year. After the team dealt Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts, Smith will have to lead Atlanta through a mini-rebuild.

#4 - Brandon Staley, 39 - Los Angeles Chargers

Brandon Staley has received accolades for his analytical decision-making in-game at such a young age.

The Los Angeles Chargers just missed the playoffs in 2021. The Chargers' disappointing 7-6 record this season has been mostly attributed to a roster depleted by injury.

#3 - Mike McDaniel, 39 - Miami Dolphins

McDaniel began his tenure in the NFL, serving as an intern under Mike Shanahan in Denver. He then spent most of his career as an assistant, assisting Kyle Shanahan and serving as the offensive coordinator in San Francisco.

McDaniel appears prepared to develop his own coaching style with the Miami Dolphins while also improving on the principles of Mike Shanahan's offensive strategy.

#2 Zac Taylor, 39 - Cincinnati Bengals

When the Los Angeles Rams made a Super Bowl trip to Super Bowl LIII, Zac Taylor was the quarterbacks' coach for the team. He started his NFL career as an offensive assistant. The season after, in 2019, Taylor was appointed Cincinnati's head coach.

After a lackluster start to his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Zac Taylor surprised many by leading the team to the Super Bowl last year.

#1 - Sean McVay, 36 - Los Angeles Rams

McVay presently holds the record for being the NFL's youngest head coach to win two Super Bowls. The statement "Everyone wants the next McVay" has influenced the hiring procedures for managers in the league, and Sean's coaching success has resulted in a significant increase in coaching expectations.

The Rams had their first positive record since 2003 and their first playoff participation since 2004 when McVay took over. In 2017, at just 30, McVay was appointed the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams and was named the AP NFL Coach of the Year for his accomplishments in the same year.
