Ray Davis College
Ray Davis first stepped onto a college football field at Temple University when he played on the Temple Owls football team in 2019. As a true freshman, he was limited to just 5 games as a starter but did feature in 12 games over the season. His freshman season ended just 64 yards short of 1,000 rushing yards on the year from 193 attempts which also included 8 touchdowns. Davis again got off to a good start in his sophomore year rushing for 308 yards in just 4 games. However, that would be the end of his time at Temple as he entered the transfer portal and didn’t play again in 2020.
In 2021 Davis who had transferred the previous year took the field for the Vanderbilt Commodores football team as he joined Vanderbilt University. As a junior, Davis played in three games for the Commodores in which he attained 211 rushing yards and had 1 touchdown on the ground. In an unfortunate event, he was injured and missed the rest of the season.
The San Francisco native would then come back in 2022 and start in all 12 games posting his first season with over 1,000 rushing yards. With 5 touchdowns on the ground, he also added 3 in the air to complete his best season of college football. Davis would then return to college but transferred for a second time. This time he chose to play for the Kentucky Wildcats at the University of Kentucky. After starting and playing in five games in 2023, Davis decided to halt his college career so that he could concentrate on making the NFL. He finished with another 1,000-plus yards rushing year with 14 touchdowns on the ground. He also added another 323 yards receiving the ball with 7 touchdowns through the air.
