Authorities confirmed that rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall of the San Francisco 49ers was shot on Saturday during an attempted robbery at Union Square. Pearsall, whom the 49ers selected in the first round of the 2024 draft, reportedly hit back against the suspect and ultimately caused both of them to be shot.

Following the incident, the 49ers released an announcement stating that Pearsall had been shot in the chest and was in "serious but stable condition.”

When the San Francisco Police Department arrived on the scene, the gunman was apprehended. Police were dispatched to the scene following the incident and discovered two people, one of them was Pearsall, who was captured on video entering an ambulance.
