Robbie Chosen has been through several name changes in his days. Born Robert Steven Anderson, he changed it to Robbie Anderson before altering it to Chosen Andersen. However, he later changed it to Robbie Chosen.
After a career at South Plantation High School, Anderson made his way over to Temple University where he spent his first few years as a redshirt and a secondary special teamer. However, in 2013, Anderson made the switch over to wide receiver. Immediately, the move paid dividends and Robbie set the school record for yards in a game. His senior year saw similarly great production, as he recorded the second most receptions and yardage in the school’s history.
Anderson's dreams of making it to the league seemed to evaporate as he went undrafted in 2016. However, his 4.36 second 40-yard dash time impressed the New York Jets into giving him a three-year contract. While he started off on the bench, he quickly made his way into the starting lineup, off of brilliant preseason and training numbers. He continued his solid play in the three years in New York, despite some irritation due to a lack of touches. His best season saw him get close to 1,000 yards while typically hovering around the 700s.
Robby Anderson’s Jersey Number
Throughout his career, Robbie Chosen sported the number 11 jersey. After his tenure with the Jets, Anderson made his way over to the Carolina Panthers and was immediately amazing. Posting career highs, Robbie totaled 1,096 yards for the season, his first season crossing the 1,000-yard benchmark. Over his next two seasons, his production saw a steep decline, forcing a number switch to $3. But, his time with the Panthers culminated in a verbal altercation with WR coach Joe Dailey. As a result, Robbie was kicked out of the game, before ultimately being traded to the Arizona Cardinals the very next day. His luck with the Cardinals wasn’t particularly great either as he recorded sub-par numbers before being released from Arizona. This past offseason, Robbie joined Tua Tagavoila and Tyreek Hill in the Miami Dolphins.
Perhaps, a dynamic quarterback and legendary running mate can help Anderson change his career trajectory.
